Welcome to OpticQuotes (“we”, “us”, “our”).We operate a service that allows customers to request quotes for prescription glasses from independent opticians across the UK. We are committed to protecting your personal data and handling it in a transparent and lawful manner. By using our website or submitting your information through our form, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect the following information when you use our form or contact us: Information you submit directly: Full name, Email address, Frame brand, model colour, Lens type and requirements, your prescription details (uploaded or emailed), pupillary distance (PD), any additional notes you voluntarily provide, Technical data, automatically collected by Wix: IP address, Browser type, Device type, Pages visited, Form submission and timestamps. We do not use cookies for tracking beyond what Wix automatically enables.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your information for the following purposes: to process your quote request; to share your prescription and frame details with selected independent opticians who may provide a quote; to contact you with quotes, questions, or clarification; to improve our servic; to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent.
4. How We Share Your Data
We share your data only when necessary to deliver our service. We may share your data with: independent opticians who need your prescription and details to prepare quotes; email service providers (e.g. outlook); form processing tools (e.g. Wix Forms); and website hosting (Wix). We do not sell your data to third parties. We only share the minimum information required for the optician to prepare a quote.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we process your data based on: "Legitimate Interests" to connect you with opticians and provide quote requests. You give explicit consent when: submitting the form; ticking the consent checkbox; emailing your prescription. You may withdraw consent at any time.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep quote request data for up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete it earlier. If you request deletion, we will remove: your prescription; your contact details; your form submission; all optician communications containing your data. We may retain anonymised, non-identifiable data for service improvement.
7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion (“right to be forgotten”); restrict processing; object to processing; request data portability. To exercise these rights, email us at: info@opticquotes.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including: secure email storage; restricted access to form submissions; secure hosting (Wix SSL encryption); sharing data only with trusted opticians. However, due to the nature of email communication, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our service is not intended for individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
